Sustainability Certifications: Greenex Environmental Signs MoU with EPD Global

Pune: Greenex Environmental has entered into a major international collaboration with Norway-based EPD Global to deliver Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) publishing services for Indian manufacturers.

The agreement was formalized at an event where Greenex Environmental Joint Managing Directors, Arati Bhosale-Ahiwale and Sagar Ahiwale, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Håkon Hauan, CEO of The Norwegian EPD Foundation (EPD-Norway).

Under the newly signed MoU, Greenex Environmental will conduct environmental impact assessments for products manufactured by Indian industries, while EPD Global will issue the final Environmental Product Declarations.

This exclusive partnership is positioned to support MSMEs and large enterprises in meeting international sustainability standards, improving product transparency, and enhancing global market competitiveness.

The collaboration combines EPD Global’s authority in EPD publication with Greenex Environmental’s technical expertise, enabling manufacturers across sectors to access streamlined, world-class EPD development and certification services.

Greenex Environmental to Enable Wider EPD Adoption Among Indian Manufacturers

India’s rising global export performance, especially among MSMEs, is driving increased demand for certified sustainable products.

According to Managing Director Arati Bhosale-Ahiwale, products backed by EPDs are gaining preference internationally, offering manufacturers an opportunity to command better pricing and improved buyer confidence.

She added that although EPDs are not yet mandatory, global regulations are steadily moving toward stricter environmental impact accountability. Greenex Environmental has already partnered with more than 50 companies across chemical, engineering, metal, and food industries.

The new collaboration is expected to reduce EPD acquisition costs by nearly 70 percent while raising certification standards to international benchmarks.

Joint Managing Director Sagar Ahiwale emphasized that the partnership represents a significant milestone for India’s sustainability efforts. The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities, strengthen industry competitiveness, and accelerate the transition toward low-carbon and globally compliant operations.

He noted that the collaboration will support India’s mission to achieve Net-Zero environmental impact by 2070. Greenex Environmental currently operates offices in Pune, Mumbai, Gujarat, and Dubai, with plans to expand into additional industrial hubs across India.
